All that person is thinking about is the risk attached to you: is it more of a risk to let you work for a competitor, or is it more of a risk to have you working for them? Your resume will lead them towards one of those conclusions. But when we talk about 'functional resume samples', many people make the mistake of thinking that their resume must be objective, direct, businesslike, and devoid of personality. Nothing could be further from the truth. We call it a 'functional resume' because it performs its function, ie it gets them ringing you and wanting you to come in for interview. In fact, the image we often have of the word 'functional', in other words objective, logical, 'left-brained' is precisely the sort of resume that usually gets a big yawn and then gets trashed.
A functional resume format will follow an established pattern throughout the resume. As accustomed, people will provide employers with their name and address at the top of the resume. Functional resume samples will show job applicants how to create an opening headline on the resume. Some applicants will use this area on a functional resume to express an Occupational Title that they prefer to use in place of entering a lengthy summary objective statement. Formats for functional resumes will allow applicants to use a summary of qualifications entry first so that employers will know how much they exceed the qualifications listed in the job post.
Copy-Pasting is a Big No-No. It's not advisable to copy another person's work. In writing your resume, you can only get ideas but not copy the whole thing. Editing can be a little okay but make sure that what you have is different from the original copy. Free resume samples have much to offer. Modify to create a copy that is personal and unique. Employers and recruiters have already seen hundreds of applications. Face the fact that they are bored in seeing almost the same terminologies, sentences, and phrases all over again. So instead of reading everything, they may just put your application aside. Always remember, ”First impressions last.” Surely, you wouldn't want your application to go to waste.
